IDMSA Financial Group
IDMSA Financial Group operates in the broad area of financial services. The Group continually strengthen its market position successively widening the scope of operations.
In December 2010 IDMSA Brokerage House and Abris Capital Partners purchased 100% of the WestLB Bank Polska' shares. Under the terms of the agreement, IDMSA purchased 45% of shares for 28.9m EUR.
WestLB Bank Polska SA has been on the Polish market since 1995. The Bank focuses on wholesale commercial and investment banking, specialising in servicing large Polish and foreign companies and government institutions.
Banking services will be an essential new segment of the IDMSA financial group’s activities complementing Group's current product-offering and provide greater diversification of business.
IDMSA BH's plans for Polish Bank of Entrepreneurship PBP S.A. (bank's new buisness name) include:
- change of strategy, with focus on SMEs;
- results' consolidation as of taking over 45% of shares;
- stock market debut within 2-3 years;
- following the IPO, IDMSA BH intends to be the bank's largest sole shareholder.
On 21 December 2010 IDMSA BH signed an investment agreement with Supernova Fund S.A. resulting in setting up Supernova IDM Fund S.A., a private equity fund with the total value of assets approximating EUR 52.5m. Supernova IDM Fund is an independent PE division of the IDMSA BH Group, specialised in SME sector.
Strategic reasons behind this transaction:
- increased activity in SME financing;
- IDMSA BH Group entering new private equity / venture capital market;
- IDMSA BH Group's competence areas supplemented with the active management and construction of substantial investment portfolio's value;
- Increased scale and flexibility of partners' investment activities;
- Elimination of potential conflict of interest between the brokerage house and investment activities;
- IDMSA BH Group's competitive position significantly reinforced.
Following the establishment of the private equity fund, IDMSA BH is the only brokerage house on the market to cover all areas of the capital market with its services. Supernova IDM fund plans to go public in Q4 2011.
